Book Launch at The Tabernacle

At one moment I looked out to over one hundred people smiling back at me as they crammed into the Tabernacle building in Machynlleth, to join me to celebrate.  This was the culmination of a large part of the last four years of my life.  From the planning, the journey and the writing about it.  It has been truly life changing!  So many people have helped me along the way, and this was my chance to thank some of them.

Holiday Exhaustion – Not Christmas, an extract from my book!

The Front Cover!

This Christmas holiday was not exhausting at all, as I avoided the flu and too much consumerism and chomping. I jumped in the sea and froliced around frosty fields and welcomed the new year with a grin. But I have been a bit slack about writing on here as I have been putting the final, final touches to the book. It is now out of my hands and then next time I see it, it will be a book! Today we have finalised the front cover too and I am really proud and excited to put it out to the world. Thanks so much to all those who have helped it get to this stage. Designing a front cover is no mean feat and I think this is pretty brilliant! So to celebrate, I thought I would write a sneak preview of the book too! (more…)

26th-29th September Peace and Quiet at last!

The train from Bangkok to Butterworth was easy peasy! and I get a huge bed and sleep so well, the best for ages. I have fun sharing Thai and English words for various food items on my plate, days of the week and other useless phrases in the guidebook (where is the bank!?) with one of my room-mates Suat. (more…)
