It is all about the bees

I have been a busy bee on my book tour recently, which has been going really well.  But for some reason these little furry insects keep cropping up everywhere.  I was really happy to be back home in Machynlleth in time to catch ‘What the bees know’, on Saturday night.

New book tells story of eco-bridesmaid’s Oz Odessey

I am really excited and have a few feelings of trepidation (but only much like the thought of eating this whole lizard when I was in Bangkok and delaying going to the red light district!!) as today we are going to press, to tell everyone that Babs2Brisbane is out.  This is what the CAT media office have had to say about my book so far.

Babs2Brisbane is Barbara Haddrill’s account of her incredible overland journey from Wales to Australia to be bridesmaid at her best friends’ wedding: a brave odyssey that should earn her the respect of travellers everywhere.

Own a bit of the proposed third runway

Yesterday as I was listening to the Today programme on Radio 4, and looking out at grey and rainy skies, I heard one snippet of news that brightened up my whole day. Greenpeace have bought a field in the area of Sipson, near Heathrow, within the boundaries of the proposed third runway. If the Government give the go ahead this week to the third runway proposal, BAA will want to compulsory purchase a lot of land in this area. This field will hopefully stop them in their tracks.
