Last chance to see Babs2Brisbane on tour

On Monday I will be taking the train back to Devon for one last stop on the Babs2Brisbane book tour. I am heading to the Appledore Book Festival. down on the north Devon coast. This is Britain’s ‘friendliest book festival’ and I am looking forward to once again seeing the lovely light which is found here, and which attracts so many artists to the area. Appledore is a lovely little village which holds fond memories from my childhood. I remember how taking the ferry over from nearby Instow, used to feel like I was travelling to some faraway country, as the whole family sat in the sun and the engine chugged us noisely over the estuary.

The festival writer in residence, Colin Shaddick, has started his blog for the festival, which begins on September 26th. In this entry he encourages us to bring a fishing line to the festival – as you never know what you may catch! If this is what Appledore is all about, then I am definately looking forward to being there, on the last stop, of this year’s tour. For more details on my event click here.

    Hi Barbara.
I’m so pleased that I had the opportunity to have a short chat with you at the Appledore Book Festival. I enjoyed your very enlightening talk very much. Can’t wait to start reading your book. I’ve mentioned you in one of my blogs; even used a couple of your quotes. I hope we can keep in touch.

    Eccentrically.
    Colin.
